We recommend starting with the following:
drive > preamp > modulation > delay/echo > reverb > speaker simulator (if running direct)
An example using our pedals is:
Neuron Preamp > Inspire Tri-Chorus > Immerse Reverberator > Iconoclast Speaker Simulator
In many cases speaker simulators may be placed directly after the preamp instead. Two exceptions to this may be when using a shimmer or pitch shifter, which may sound harsh when placed after a speaker simulator.
When using an amp, we recommend placing drive pedals before the amp's input and modulation/delay/reverb effects in the effects loop.
Gain pedals (overdrive, distortion, preamps, etc.) boost noise as well as input signal, so most effects should be placed after gain pedals.
This recommendation is just a starting point, so feel free to experiment.
